I am not sure about this one. The writing is great and the story pulls you in but...
Andy is hard for me to like. She describes herself as someone who has to have the full picture. As someone who does not trust easily, but that is not how Andy acts. When she first moves to town, she keeps herself at a distance from her Uncle. But she trusts him fully after the discovery of Shifters. It's a big leap for me that I couldn't follow. Andy spends most of the book at the Dens, she knows them better than her Uncle. So why would she take everything Herc says at face value and not go to Sascha to get his side of things? I truly can't understand this leap. I understand being scared after experiencing such extreme emotions and the partial shift in Sascha's Office. I even get that those emotions would be a major factor in pushing Sascha away. But for someone who doesn't trust, loves to learn, and research to NOT ask for both sides of the story... it doesn't work. I was tempted to put the book down when it became obvious that Andy wasn't going to ask Sascha shit.
I kept reading, irritably so but, I finished it.
I loved Sascha. He was such a great character I wanted his POV mixed in. It would have made the book better for me. The only reason I will continue this series is for him.
