What if Cinderella never tried on the glass slipper? Unable to prove that she's the missing princess, and unable to bear life under Lady Tremaine any longer, Cinderella attempts a fresh start, looking for work at the palace as a seamstress. But when the Grand Duke appoints her to serve under the king's visiting sister, Cinderella becomes witness to a grand conspiracy to take the king-and the prince-out of power, as well as a longstanding prejudice against fairies, including Cinderella's own Fairy Godmother. Faced with questions of love and loyalty to the kingdom, Cinderella must find a way to stop the villains of past and present . . . before it's too late.

This was, by far, my favorite of all the Disney Twisted Tales I have read. The story captured me from beginning to end. What if Cinderella never tried on the glass slipper? Well, it would have caused her to go on a grand adventure to reunite with her true love. Elizabeth Lim hit this out of the park. Loved it!
This was a FANTASTIC way for me personally to finish the Twisted Tales series!!! I am Extremely glad I decided to make this my last Twisted Tales book read (of everything that has come out so far, anyways)!!! I loved this a LOT more than I did the original movie!!! I also really liked the added plot of magic being banned!!! All in all, yet another WONDERFUL edition to the series, and I can't Wait to see what other stories will be added to the Twisted Tales series!!!!!
Cinderella is my all-time favorite Disney fairytale. I have been wanting to read these twisted tales for a while, so what better way to start this series, than with my favorite.
I absolutely love how everything didn't just come easy to Cinderella and Charles. Love isn't easy, and neither is a love worth fighting for. I also thought the twist with the Grand Duke, and with the Fairy Godmother, was perfect. One never knows what really goes on inside people's minds and the Grand Duke is definitely not what he seems.
