Sylvia Doe and the 100-Year Flood

Twelve-year-old Sylvia Doe keeps running away from foster homes to return to the mountains of North Carolina, until a 100-year flood, a strange boy, and a cave that is a portal to other times and places, bring her back where she truly belongs.
