The Abandoned Realm

I looked forward to reading this book since the premise seemed very promising, but the writing put me off. TBH, the playlist at the beginning was a huge callback to FanFiction.net and that set the mood for me, in a bad way. If this book were a videogame, it'd be blatant asset-flipping. It's just a collection of tropes and stock characters, with an obvious plot line and cliche scenes. I literally groaned at the bad plot twist near the end. At least I could use it for the “author self-insertion” prompt for the 52 books reading challenge.
