The Bride Wore Black Leather

John Taylor is the new Walker and is getting married. For some reason he wants to take one last case. This book really feels like one last hurrah and really doesn't advance the overall story at all. I expect this to be the final Nightside book.

Not really sure it's worth reading, but if you've read the previous 11 books it's probably worth a library checkout. I'm glad it was a gift because I would feel ripped off if I had paid $13 for it.

Typical humor and over the top villains make this fun to read. John revisits old haunts and the past players are all there.

I hope this is the last Nightside book and if it isn't I won't be paying for the next one. The whole book just felt half thought out.

I can't tell if this was supposed to be the end of the series or not. While the story was typical and enjoyable for Green, the ending did not feel like “the end”. It felt like it was building for another three part series in which another apocalypse is averted by John Taylor.

The nightside books have always been a fun diversion from the longer and more complex stuff I usually read.

Somehow I missed this when it came out, so I just got to it.

Green has called this the last book “for now” and I hope that just means he's taking a break to focus on some other stories.

He seems to be pushing his newer Secret History series, which must overlap with this world. He mentioned the main character several times. I plan to check that out eventually.

I didn't enjoy this one as much as the last, but if this does prove to be the last book, the ending was satisfying enough.

I do hope this isn't the last I hear from John Taylor and his insane friends.
