The Eighth Sister

This book started out as an America vs Russia spy thriller which I enjoyed then turned into a court thriller which I rarely enjoy.

Jenkins is a retired CIA agent that asked for help from his old boss on a secret mission. Someone is killing their spy operatives in Russia and Jenkins needs to find out. When he gets to Russia he finds out nothing is at it seems and he goes on the run from a Russian badass who pursues him restlessly and will kill anyone who covers for him. Then his own government leaves him out to dry and he's being accused of being a spy against his own country and must prove his innocence.
