Some what interesting premise, horrible execution. The world is confusing, the plot is nonsensical and the characters are flat. They three heroes are generic hero kids that don't even feel believable. The villain is a basic mustache twirling antagonist that fails to come off as anything more complex. Failed to keep me interested.
a solid 3 star book until the end and it took a generic turn and now its a boring 2 star read and now i'm not interested in reading the second book anymore so...
really disturbing for a YA book released in the early 2010s.. like oh my god
I can't say too much for fear of spoilers. If you liked The Maze Runner, and are over about age 12, you will probably like this story.
The fast pace of the action makes this one a real page turner. You are fully absorbed as a teenager in a virtual world. Are you going to survive the challenge?
I just dropped the book one day and never finished it. Why?
Because I got bored sincerely. I think it has the same faults as the maze runner series, it just lack something which makes you really care about the characters and what happen to them.
You have great ideas in this book but it just didn't work for me.
