DNF: Got to the end of the Kindle sample and everything so far had consisted of rather cliched rape fantasy, which I don't find incredibly interesting.

A deep look into psychopathy, set in a world of space pirates. Beautifully written. Dark and disturbing. Not for the faint of gag reflex.

It's Donaldson, so the storytelling is nearly brilliant and the story itself is brutal and disturbing. Despite how this book sets up the pins that the rest of the series knocks down, it is really just too much for me to recommend.

Action/Adventure, fun casts of characters, galaxy spanning. While there's no shortage of military oriented SF, I'm looking for ... not that.
