I continue to appreciate finally getting to read these in order! Love having context, getting to actually see events that had only been referred to in passing. The founding of their club! I know these were at least a solid generation or so before my time, but to me, they read better than the Nancy Drew books, where our heroine is 16, has a car, and is basically a twentysomething who's been aged down to appeal to young people.
The mystery is almost secondary compared to the antics of the kids.
The number and types of servants in Honeys house is bewildering.
For a family of 4 including 2 teenage children, do they really need 7-8 full-time staff that live in the house?
Also, it's kind of weird how excited Honey is to have a little job and earn some money.
I am way out of the target audience but it was somewhat entertaining.
This one is just so fun. I love seeing Brian and Mart return. There is a little danger at the end to quicken the pulse. And there is no mystery of people hurting, so everyone is happy. Lovely little mystery.
