I came late to the Happiness Project brouhaha but I finally got around to reading it. I did a combination audio/paper read. What I gleaned from the book was really taking time to reflect on what matters which, in our hyper-paced, online-all-the-time world, doesn't happen all that often. I know that I am constantly working but I have forgotten why I work so much. Why am I “so busy”?

The book, like so many other self-help books remind us to slow down and think about the whys of our actions and whether we should keep doing them. Sure, some will not resonate with the author and there were certainly things that Rubin did or quit doing that were not things that resonated with me but that, in and of itself helped to clarify for me what is important to me.
