This book was such a fun read! There are a couple twists and turns along the way. There a few moments along the way that I wanted to shake some sense into her. However in the end Marinka finds happiness with her life and her work.
This was a new view of the Baba Yaga legend and it was very well done. The magic and the universe was heart warming and fun. I can't wait to share this with my kids.
The main complaint I see about this book is that she's a little whiny, which is true, but she's also a 12 year old girl and very realistic in her self centered nature. This was a whimsical read about life, death, moving on, found-family, and discovering your place.
