This is a good deal better than the previous volume, if not quite back to the standard of the early releases - it may be that Wiebe feels he's already gone as far as he could with that particular style, and is moving on to something more reflective. At any rate, this is a mostly straightforward adventure, with the Queens setting out to rescue a land from orcish invaders and encountering strange monsters along the way. Braga is particularly prominent in this story, and we get to see more of her background. There's also a side-plot with Dee ascending to the celestial realm, which turns out to be less impressive than she'd expected. It's at least fun and well-written, if not fully as entertaining as when it was fresh and new.
I was less impressed with the cyberpunk story stuck on the end, but I'll let that slide.
I didn't like the last volume as much as the rest of the series, but in this one it' back on track :)
