I really struggled to get invested in any of the characters so even though it was an action packed fast read it feel like it.
The first 2/3 of this was stellar. It was so fast paced and fun to read, almost like a movie. The last 1/3 felt too choppy. I also hated the multiple POV. Most of the book we follow Heather around but every so often we would follow someone else. It could be any character, and I usually couldn't tell who it was until the end of the chapter, if at all. I couldn't follow some of the writing style. It's almost as if 3-4 different authors wrote it. The different characters were so different, some even read nonsensical, or dreamlike? I couldn't even tell. LI DNF'd The Chain, I don't think I'll be picking up from this author again

I've stopped reading synopsis in thrillers, coz I have found out that the more I go into the book blind the more I enjoy it. So, when starting this one I didn't know that it was gonna be them on an island running from the locals, I thought they were going to be vacationing on an island
I received a free copy of this book as part of the Novel Suspects Insider's Club and I am really happy I got it because this book kept me at the edge of my seat from beginning to end. I never knew what was going to happen next.
I really don't want to spoil the book for anyone, but OMG! Tom! I knew I didn't like him from the start for being so condescending, specially with Heather. It's funny the way that absolutely everyone in this book underestimated Heather. I am so glad that she showed them what a bad-ass she really was.

It was very fast paced. It draws you in, Heather, is a young women, suddenly a mother of 2 bratty teens on a vacation with her new husband. Things go wrong and it turns into a big survival adventure, with snakes, murder, ants, spiders, limited water, and food.
It was a great thriller. Im not visiting Australia ever.
this was such a fun thriller! it really had me on the edge of my seat and i enjoy all the discussions of indigenous people and colonizations
If you give yourself up to the story, it'll take you away. If you're ultra critical, you'll ruin the experience for yourself.
Tom, Heather, Olivia and Owen are traveling to Australia for Tom's work conference. While there, they decide to do some family sightseeing. They want to do it all, shop, dine, see the animals, maybe take in a winery tour...
One day they get the chance to go to a secluded island with the promise of seeing all sorts of animals natural to Australia, despite warnings that outsiders aren't welcome there...
As expected things go wrong and their lives are in danger. Can they stay alive long enough to make it off the island? Or will this be the last place they ever get to see...
Well that was an action-packed, made me stay up late and finish the next morning thriller! From the Prologue through the next-to-last chapter this was jam packed with anxiety-driven scenes. Whew...
