I found this book very, very predictable. The story was good and I enjoyed reading about the ladies of the Hook & Needle club trying to figure out the mystery of who the lady in the cross stitch was but I knew from the 4th chapter and not because I'm super clever. Later on in the book as I was wondering WHY Stella was acting the way she was, especially in regards to the cross stitch and talking about Betsy, I figured that out too but hoped I was wrong. Nope. It isn't a bad book but it isn't that big of a mystery.
Annie has inherited her grandmother's estate - Grey Gables. While there she comes across a gorgeous cross-stitch in the attic with a mystery as to who the woman in the piece is. And so begins her quest into unraveling the secret of ‘The Lady in the Attic'.
This wasn't filled with thrills or cute pets intervening like most I've read BUT it is jam-packed with solving a mystery, heartfelt intentions and love for friends.
