The Only Good Indians

rated this 4 stars right after finishing it but i changed my mind, it's 5 stars. 4.5 rounded up? whatever. i had to chew on it for a bit after finishing it i think. i had a little trouble following the change in perspectives and wasn't sure i liked it, so originally rated it 4 stars, but after thinking about it some more and actually discussing it with someone, i realized how much i loved this and how layered it was. pure tropey slasher horror but also amazingly new and fresh, and so, so atmospheric and tense. one of those books i had to really think about and peel apart, which i think is why it actually took me a few days to read it too. but wow i can't stop thinking about it.

tw for obvs lots of horror and gore, especially graphic descriptions of animal death and mutilation
