This was a fantastic read.
It was a gripping story, with plenty of twists and turns. It was really well written from the plot to the characters.
I loved our main protagonist Gil, who despite his faults/quirks was a very likeable character. I also loved that we got insight into both his personal and professional lives.
I enjoyed the partnership between him and Jess and I definitely look forward to reading more of this partnership!
If you don't mind a political thriller, then I highly recommend this to you!
Thank you to PH and Robert for the chance to read this book.
I think the great strength of this thriller was the main character, who I thought was very true to life. I loved how the author portrayed him and his family relationships after the death of his sister, and I thought the book had a really strong plot too, going right to the heart of the establishment. The way Peston portrayed the thinly disguised Labour politicians of the 90s was entertaining too.
I read and advanced review copy on Pigeonhole and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
