So much happened but also not a lot if that makes sense? how does this series have two more books.. like what exactly is there left to say or add?
I didn't enjoy this one as much as the first. The language was different at times.. almost too casual. The book itself was kind of meh. Usually I have to finish a series if I start it but I'm not sure I'll finish this one.
I'm working my way through this series because it's popular with the teens at my library. I dealt with my guilt of reading a Frey Factory product in my review for Dorothy Must Die, so go check it out if you care.
This is a typical waiting room book (the second book in a trilogy that just seems to stretch the series out in order to make it a trilogy). All of the characters are scattered, the mc has to fight some personal demons, realizes the feelings she has for love interest are valid. Yawn.
What I did like was: Amy's voice, the introduction of new characters and lands, the absence (for the most part, of Dorothy and Glinda), and I liked Queen Lulu.
I really liked Amy's fight through the fog. She really grew as a character in this book.
I wasn't crazy about this new concept of destroying Kansas. I get it, it's just weird.
The third installment is due very soon, so I should be able to finish this without a huge wait. I have not read the prequels.
