the fact that I only read this because I ordered this authors other book and wanted to read this before that book arrived.... I no longer want to read that book. This book ruined everything for me
so many little things to pick apart here..
first of all, this town they live in is bad in dealing with a murder investigation because they are a crime free town that only has to deal with parking tickets... im sorry but the town is full of rich teenagers who don't listen to the word “no”
sure ok there is no murder in this town but I just KNOW sex crimes are rampant there. Every male in this book are pure filth and hate women openly, you cant tell me there is no crime in this town.
secondly, the killer was in your face 24/7 and very obvious. oh wow the only nice guy that exists in this book that's not present in the main friend group and is randomly thrown in a chapter even though it doesn't make sense that he's there... oh I wonder who the killer is. ur kidding me right?
a little funny thing I caught was a scene where Jill locks her door and suddenly her mum bursts through it a minute later.. Jessica Goodman fire your editor lol
insanely boring book. If I wanted to experience rich teens spending their parents money and torturing younger kids... I would go back to school. Pure hell.
They Wish They Were Us✨

One sentence synopsis... Jill Newman is haunted by the death of her best friend and fellow Player in her exclusive prep school's secret society whose murder may not be as open-and-shut a case as it seems.
.
Read it if you like... ‘Pretty Little Liars' meets ‘Gossip Girl'.
.
Dream casting... Sydney Sweeney of ‘Euphoria' is making it into a TV show starring herself and Halsey.
For starters, I think the cover and title are awesome. But the story and the writing...eh. Ok, the writing is decent enough, but the story/plot is basically what you'd expect of a “gossip girl-esque” mainstream book...it's predictable. So predictable and stereotypical that it almost gives me Riverdale vibes. I'm not surprised - I know these type of books sell, especially to teen girls, and maybe it's just me who can't get into it. But at the end of the day, I find it predictable.
bad.
didn't like.
i saw the plot twist coming from the very beginning.
also the writing is so awkward and weird??? i don't think jessica goodman ever met a teenager.
