"Analiese Drucker is a creative problem solver. A thinking-ahead young woman. When the electrical grid collapses during a prairie winter, she finds an elderly friend shivering and alone in a snowbound home. Determined to secure the energy future of her friends, family, and neighbours, she proposes an audacious community plan to make the town an independent, electricity producer using carbon-free nuclear power. 'You showed us we have something worth fighting for,' the mayor tells Analiese. A quick-witted strategist, Analiese deploys her scientific knowledge with quirky, humorous insights that challenge the traditional attitudes of the plan's opponents." -- Author's website.

In Trouble Finds me, Tyler Trafford provides the reader with a robust, uniquely voiced set of characters. The main character is a female journeyman welder, with a distinctive style and outlook on life.
While the plot revolves around the community’s controversial decision to purchase a small nuclear reactor, and the resistance to that by outsiders, it is the characters that will keep you reading.
The writing is engaging. The story is appealing. At its core, it’s a story about people and their drive to secure a future.
In short, I enjoyed this book.
