Logan und Tate finde ich super sweet und ich bin gespannt wie es weitergeht
Maybe you'll like this book, but I'm sad to admit that even speeding up my audiobook at 3.5x didn't make this story feel less cumbersome to get through. Here's why it didn't work for me:
Logan and Tate's romance was not believable. These two start catching feelings without even getting to truly know one another. They're just fucking left right and centre and somehow feelings come about; was not very convincing for me personally.
Logan was hard to root for as a love interest. He's so goddamn pushy with Tate—and this is coming from someone who lets a lot slide in fictional romance stories given that the end result is satisfying. All the pushing and pulling became repetitive and predictable. Logan would push, Tate would hesitate, Logan would push further, Tate would reluctantly succumb, miscommunication, repeat. Speaking of which:
Unconvincing miscommunication was a blight of this book. I actually don't hate miscommunication at all. Failure to communicate properly is a very human trait and I find it believable in books, as long as it isn't done in excess. And ‘excess' sums up the amount of miscommunication in this book. It didn't even feel like decent miscommunication because Logan and Tate kept being passive aggressive over things that a single sentence of clarification could have fixed—but my bad, Logan's ego is simply too inflated to admit flaws.
Too much sex—gasps—that is repetitive and unimaginative.
