Turning Pro se présente comme la suite directe de “The War of Art”, mais je l'ai trouvé un peu moins bon que son prédécesseur.
La première partie m'a semblé particulièrement redondante avec les deux premiers livres de Steven Pressfield sur le même sujet, d'autant que la forme est beaucoup moins percutante.
La deuxième partie retrouve le style percutant qui m'avait séduit dans les deux premiers livres. Steven Pressfield y définit à nouveau ce qu'il appelle l'amateur et le professionnel, et ça m'a beaucoup parlé, surtout l'amateur :-)
Dans la troisième partie, j'ai retrouvé les défauts de la première, avec des exemples parfois longs et un peu à côté du sujet à mon avis.
Dans l'ensemble, je trouve ce livre moins indispensable que les deux premiers, avec une légère tendance de l'auteur à s'écouter parler, si je peux l'exprimer ainsi pour un livre.
Again, much like Do The Work, this book just feels like the leftover material cut from The War of Art. You can skip this one too.
Not a memorably written nor complex book. It reminds me of the allegorical business books that have short chapters. At the same time, it is such a phenomenal kick in the pants. Honest “tell it like it is” observation from mentor-like voice, with plenty of room to draw your own conclusion and make your own application.
A good companion for chasing down dreams.
