It seems a lot of people find sleazy alphaholes appealing. I don???t.
Famous pop star needs to revamp his image, so his PR team hires him a “normal” fake girlfriend. Seems like a common enough trope but the writing here is amazing. Vaughn is a sweet girl who doesn't even try to impress Oak and him being famous doesn't intimidate her. Oak may be a celebrity but he is still a lonely teenager who wants to do more with his music and life. It starts like a job but the two of them develop an unlikely friendship. I really liked how they were able to understand each other despite their different backgrounds. Oak really grew on me as the book progressed and it was good to see that he respected her choices always. She tries to give him the chance to have normal experiences which was great to read. I am in love with these two and also the whole Bennett family and Ty. This is a wonderful love story and I recommend to anyone who enjoys cute romances.
This story was too unrealistic for me. No way does a 19-year-old pop star meet a 17-year-old girl and want to spend the rest of his life with her. Especially when you're the biggest pop star in the world. Maybe if you're a Belieber who has delusions that someday he'll meet you and fall head over heels for you and change his partying ways in order to be with you forever, this book will give you hope. Idk.
I would have maybe liked this story better if Vaughn had been older than 17. Certain things that happened in the book were uncomfortable to read knowing that she was a minor while Oakley is an adult. I also could have done without the cringeworthy tweets at the beginning of each chapter. Do fangirls really tweet/speak like that??
