Practical Magic meets Gilmore Girls in this adorable witchy rom-com by New York Times bestselling author Ann Aguiree, with a bisexual cinnamon roll hero, a commitment-averse heroine, and a chemistry between them that causes literal sparks. Danica Waterhouse is a fully modern witch—daughter, granddaughter, cousin, and co-owner of the Fix-It Witches, a magical tech repair shop. After a messy breakup that included way too much family "feedback," Danica made a pact with her cousin: they'll keep their hearts protected and have fun, without involving any of the overly opinionated Waterhouse matriarchs. Danica is more than a little exhausted navigating a long-standing family feud where Gram thinks the only good mundane is a dead one and Danica's mother weaves floral crowns for anyone who crosses her path. Three blocks down from the Fix-It Witches, Titus Winnaker, owner of Sugar Daddy's bakery, has family trouble of his own. After a tragic loss, all he's got left is his sister, the bakery, and a lifetime of terrible luck in love. Sure, business is sweet, but he can't seem to shake the romantic curse that's left him past thirty and still a virgin. He's decided he's doomed to be forever alone. Until he meets Danica Waterhouse. The sparks are instant, their attraction irresistible. For him, she's the one. To her, he's a firebomb thrown in the middle of a family war. Can a modern witch find love with an old-fashioned mundane who refuses to settle for anything less than forever? Witch Please was soooo cute! I couldn't stop smiling throughout this read and I cannot wait for the next book already.
Witch Please follows Danica Waterhouse, a modern witch, that is co founder of Fix-it Witches, a magicial repair shop. That fact alone makes me laugh because I have never really thought about normal jobs witches could do with their magic. One day while working, she meets Titus Winnaker, a bisexual baker that needs his oven fixed. Danica and Titus are instantly attracted to each other. There is only one problem for Danica, he is not a witch to keep her witch bloodline going because her family is known for losing their magic if they do not marry a full blooded witch, according to her grandmother.
The book is full of cute banter, adorable dates and conflict due to the push and pull of Danica's feelings for Titus. I really enjoyed their relationship and how easy it felt outside of the main issue. Titus was super funny in his POV with how he is worried about a curse on him when it comes to dating. He has yet to have a long term relationship or had sex. I looked forward to reading his POVs because his awkward personality was refreshing to read.
If you are looking for a cute read with a little bit of spice, look no further! Get your fill of a cute awkward baker and a cool witch.
Danica Waterhouse is a witch able to fix things using her magic. Titus is a baker with a shop a couple of blocks over from her shop. When Danica fixes Titus's oven sparks fly between them. Titus has been hurt many times in love so he holds back a bit. Danica has been told that she will lose her magic if she falls in love with a mortal.
This was a fairly fun romance. It was a bit fluffy but sometimes that's what you need. Reminds me of a Lifetime Movie but I enjoyed it because sometimes you need something light.
This book made me want to bake ALL THE THINGS. Best read with a cinnamon roll close at hand.
Was the plot a bit of a mess? Sure. Should the author have double checked the Mamma Mia soundtrack before mentioning it includes a certain song? Probably. But it was just so fun and delightful (and diverse!), and I loved Aguirre's purposeful way of taking common tropes and turning them around. Four stars!
