Dave Wyatt is a West Indian meteorologist, working on the island of San Fernandez. When Dave carries out an airborne inspection of hurricane Mabel he develops a bad gut feeling. When he later sees a fellow West Indian tying down his roof he is sure.
Dave must spread the word of the hurricane amidst disbelief, and in the middle of a war.
