I had to read this book for one of my literature courses at uni and I quite liked it!! It was some time ago so I can't say much about why I liked it but it left me this feeling of being a nice and entertaining reading.
I also have watched the film adaptation before reading or even knowing about the existence of this book and I enjoyed it so it wasn't a bit suprirse for me to also enjoy the book.
I'm really horrible at reviewing... which it doesn't say good things of me, being (almost) a major in English...
I had to read this for one of my lit courses on popular narratives at uni and I really enjoyed reading it. My only complain, and most of my classmates and prof agree on it, is that we didn't quite like the very end of the book
I liked it a lot but didn't laugh out loud like other people did... I guess I don't find human stupidity to be funny. But I do find the book very interesting and some of the anecdotes put a smile on my face.
