I don't really like giving memoirs star ratings because who am I to judge someone else's life story. Although, I didn't love the writing, Britney has clearly been through a lot in her life and deserves all the happiness and success she can get. So 4 stars.
Yassss Paris!! This book was so beyond that I now talk like Paris Hilton. PS highly recommend the audiobook.
Having just read Little women this was an interesting read. Hello Beautiful is a Little Women retelling, which I was unaware of going into it.
Overall, this was an ok book for me. It was really slow in some parts. But if you enjoyed Little Women then you might enjoy the story which focused heavily on sisters and family dynamics.
This book was meh for me. I didn't hate it but didn't love it. The writing was alright but I found the story sometimes boring. That's it, not much else going on here!!!!
This was a good, well paced book. I had fun reading it. But as with a lot of Freida McFadden books, the writing was nothing different or special. It was a little predictable and formulaic but could easily be read in one sitting.
3.5 stars if you are a fan of the Harry Potter movies you will love this book. If you are like me and haven't watched them all but still kinda enjoyed them, this is probably also enjoyable.
Honestly, my favourite parts of this book were the parts before and after Draco Malfoy fame. This was an ok memoir. Again, probably would have enjoyed more if I cared about the Harry Potter franchise.
If I could give this book 10 stars, I would. I loved this book so much. This is one of those books that will stay with me for a really long time.
I'm a little embarrassed to say I read this book. Did I like it? Meh...
What I can say is that Rhett calling Summer “Princess” gave me the ick!
2.5 stars for me. Honestly, it was fine I didn't hate it but I found it weird and annoying that Cora and Georgia's chapters were first person pov, while Paige was third person. Like why would you do that?????
2.5 stars. It was well paced and a quick read. The pictures really added something interesting but the twist was weird. In particular there were some weird thing's that were implied about “liberals” and a weird statement about transgender people?????
I'll be honest it was confusing!!!!
3.5 stars. This book was hard to get into. It was a pretty slow beginning but picked up a bit around the halfway mark. Overall, the writing was beautiful and the storytelling was compelling. I just couldn't get over how slow paced it was.
This was an interesting book, but I feel like it was missing something... maybe a climatic part. I don't know, it was really well written but the story itself was pretty slow and boring. The plot was interesting but I feel there wasn't enough horror to make it horror, if that makes sense.
This was definitely an important book about trauma and its impacts on our individual and social health. These topics of trauma are often not discussed enough. However, this book was so overwhelming with information about the deep and dark effects of trauma (addictions, homelessness, disease, etc). It felt as if we are doing everything wrong and nothing right that it left me with a lot of hopelessness. It was a very long book and it felt like it dumped all of this trauma on the reader with not a lot of solutions to actively solve the problem. Although it was very well researched and clearly the author knows what they are talking about, it left me feeling helpless knowing that there is all this trauma and not a lot of answers to how to change it.
This is the LAST damn time I read a book I found off booktok!!! This was so brutal!!! Did I read the same book as everyone else or am I missing something.
Nothing redeeming or relatable about any of these characters. They were all so self involved and stupid. I could have cared less about the “romance”. The writing was confusing... was this YA or adult I have no idea. All I know is this book was not for me and I will definitely not be reading any of the other books in the series
This was a DNF for me!!! And I don't often DNF but I just couldn't with this one. What did people see in this book??? Because I'm lost!! I think fanfic is just not for me!!
This was a hard NO from me!!!
I started reading this book a month ago and DNFed it. But I continued to see rave reviews so I picked it up again because maybe I didn't give it enough of a chance. I have now finished it and am confused at all the 4 and 5 star reviews. Did I read the same book as everyone else??
The writing was fine, it was engaging enough that I was able to finish it despite not liking it.
The thing that annoyed me the most about Malibu Rising was the characters. This was very much a character driven story and I just found it difficult to relate to or like any of the main characters. Maybe it was because I was distracted by all of the other unimportant side characters and storylines that I just didn't understand the point of. Why should I care about some Hollywood producer and cocktail waitress? There were way too many characters and I just couldn't keep track of all of their story lines.
Clearly I'm in the minority, but this one just missed the mark for me. I much preferred Daisy Jones and the Six and the Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo.
Betty... Betty... Betty... this was the best book I've read all year. I will forever remember the story of Betty and her family!
There are trigger warnings of abuse and SA which I was unaware of going in. But overall, beautiful book.
3.5 ⭐️ I'm not really into romance but this was super cute. I saw some of the tv show and was interested in reading the book.
The only thing is I feel like it was too long. Could have taken out the last 20-30 pages and it still would have been good. Also, really hated the Justin storyline. It didn't really make sense and the ending scene kinda ruined it for me.
Considering where we are with technology and AI this was certainly an interesting read for 2024.
Bladerunner is one of my favourite movies and although “do androids dream of electric sheep” was nothing what I was expecting, I still enjoyed it.
This was cringy as heck. If you are looking for a romance with 0 smut/ spice this one is probably for you. Not much else to say about this one!
All I could think of the entire time reading this book was of Brad Pitt yelling at Morgan Freeman “WHAT'S IN THE BOX!!!”. And that's it, that's my review!!!
This book was a fun read. There were somethings in the book that I recognized like the name of the park Wonderland and Tiny Tims donuts but it never truly clicked until the authors note. Anyway, I enjoyed the ride!
I tried really hard with this one and just couldn't get invested in the story. It was poetically written I guess, but my GOD was I bored out of my mind!!!!!!!!!! For a story about spies and espionage where was the action?????
This one put me right to sleep.
I need to know... who is recommending this book and to please STOP!!!!
A Little life was absolutely beautifully written I'll give it that and that is why it is getting 4 stars. Otherwise, this is not a book for anyone who has been through any type of trauma nor is it a book for someone who is not in a good mental space. It often felt like trauma porn which shouldn't be a thing but clearly is. Please consider your mental well-being before picking up this book.
I'm gonna start with a controversial opinion!!! Molly was the most interesting and honest character of the whole book.
Hardin sucked as a character... nothing redeeming, nothing good. Honestly, can't tell if Anna Todd loves or hates Harry Styles!!! Tessa was an annoying, cheating, slut shaming, little girl. Hated them both.
Justice for pink haired snake/part-time hoe Molly!!
