This is certainly a peculiar book. Or should I say footnotes collection?

I enjoyed a great amount of the mundane observations made by the protagonist, but some of them were a little over the top. I feel like this book deserves the 4 stars after simmering for some time, but we'll see.

The only way I could have ~liked~ this book was if I had read it as a teenager in Paris in the 60's whilst smoking cigarettes and being a obnoxious and pedantic little bastard just for the sake of it.

A good book with accurate but basic information. The lack of pictures was a letdown.

It's a nice book for beginners on the subject, but definitely not the “ultimate vegan cookbook”.

I loved this book. I especially liked its format and will look for some more books written by Mary Shelley. It still baffles me how she was able to write this when she was only nineteen.
