I didn't expect anything so good from a short story distributed free on the author's web site! This is a wonderful addition to the series, and required reading for anyone following the series. I can only hope that [a:Kevin Hearne 4414255 Kevin Hearne http://photo.goodreads.com/authors/1289238438p2/4414255.jpg] gives us more from Granuaile's point of view!
I really liked this short story. I want Granuaile to succeed, I think she would make a great Druid, and let's face it, Atticus needs all the friends he can get. I was soooo happy that she made it, and a little surprised because I don't really trust the 2 giving the test, especially Flidais.
Granuaile is Atticus's new apprentice. In book three Atticus introduces her to the Earth spirit Sonora who in turn tells Granuaile that she already has a task for her. Sonora gives Granuaile the task of cleaning up the river near their home. When Atticus sets off for Asgard, Granuaile begins her task. She encounters more at the river than just having to rid of it of the foreign fish that are killing off the native fish.
Nice short story that's about 10 pages in length. We get to learn more about Granuaile and her thought process and in turn grasp a greater understanding as to why Atticus likes her so much. She is meant to be a druid.
