My heart just exploded. This wasn't what I expected and good Lord I loved it so much.
Here we go! 3 Pros and Cons
Pros:
1) I loved that the characters were flawed and not just grieving. It gives them much needed depth and allows you to connect with them.
2) The communication between the characters was a great format and just added to the reading experience
3) Beautiful, vivid descriptions to the point where I could visualise it mentally
Cons:
SPOILER
1) I didn't appreciate how at the end everything was resolved. That isn't what happens in real life. In real life at the end of the book, your parents are still messed up and your mother is still a dickhead and nothing makes it acceptable.
2) It wasn't that memorable. I have read a similar book and this book unfortunately doesn't stand out although I have never lost someone really close to me before so maybe afterwards it will feel more personal
3) I didn't like the female main characters friend. She was bland, generic, plain, and didn't add to the story at all
