Again, I failed to guess the correct villain to this one.............tsk tsk tsk, and here I thought finally a linear story, Mr. Stroud you truly are unpredictable or maybe I am going senile........
Anyway, another wonderful story, we begin to see some more developments character wise and some of the more enigmatic characters are being fleshed(?) out!!!!!

jonathan is back at it again with such a fun book. this series has taken the spot for middle grade horror.
Another exciting action packed case from Lockwood & Co! Not only did they solve the case, but they are growing as people and a team as well.
Wederom een spannend en mysterieus avontuur, al vond ik dit toch iets te lang aanslepen. Ik werd ook vaak een beetje afgeschrikt door Lucy, omdat ze echt buitengewoon onaardig en vaak nogal bitchy is tegenover iedereen om haar heen, vooral tegenover andere vrouwelijke personages.
Hoe dan ook toch wel genoten van dit verhaal en de cliffhanger aan het einde belooft alvast een interessant vervolg.
Great story I couldn't put down. Johnathan Stroud has such great characters and great dialog in his stories.
The more I read this series the more I am reminded of The Three Investigators I used to read as a kid. Sadly, the calibre of mysteries are not even close so we could guess quite a bit of the ending. Stroud does enough to keep you engaged though and come back for the next especially if you are a YA fan. It's just the kind of break I needed from Heavy duty fantasy fiction.
