A thoughtful memoir about switching careers late in life and the pressures of ill and dying parents. Painter talks about the joys and trails of moving through art school undergraduate and graduate degrees, her work as a history professor, and the mysteries of being an Artist (or not) from the perspective of an older (64!) Black woman in the US. Illustrated with her own work, the pages are nice and glossy.

DNF @ 30%. Perhaps it was the tone of the audiobook that wasn't working for me? I just never felt inspired to continue.
