Another superb Saga volume. The artwork is so incredible, subtle and respectful - as in the writing.
This volume deals with some topics extremely close to my heart (baby loss) and made for some hard reading, but again, this is done in such a respectful way.
Absolutely love it, and will be chomping at the bit to get hold of volume 9!
I... I feel good at the end of a Saga volume... I feel good at the end of a Saga volume that explicitly addresses complex moral arguments and assumptions around abortion as well as the all too often overlooked and powerful effects of miscarriage. And yet there is so much hope here. There is so much love. There are so many rainbow zebras.

I just love Saga so much....the writing, the gorgeous art, the wonderful characters, all the worlds we get to visit. It's genius, all of it.

Story
What can I say this deep into the story without just spoiling the plot? This continues to be one of my favorite comics. I love the characters. I love the world building. I love the plot. It's dark at times, joyful at others. It's crude at times and beautiful at others. In other words it encapsulates life.
Well if your life involves fleeing from bounty hunters and your own people in an effort to protect your daughter from being killed just for being born.
Another great volume. I can't wait for the next.
Artwork
Fiona Staples kicks ass. I love her work. This series wouldn't be nearly as good as it is without it. She brings Mr. Vaughan's words to life far better than my own imagination would be able to.

When people talk about books that have a high body count (like Game of thrones) they never seem the mention Saga. So sad.
Every time I pick up a new volume of Saga I feel like I'm starting all over because I can never hold everything in my brain? But it's always a freshly enjoyable experience.

“I'll just never understand why war is easy, and peace is so goddamn hard.”
For me, the volume with the lowest rating so far. Probably because it's less action-packed than its predecessors. I can't complain about the art, it's beautiful. I'm dying to see what comes next.
It's impossible not to love this universe, overall. I'm willing to devour whatever comes out of it.

Still love it. Hazel and her imaginary brother. Abortion and transgender issues. Sir Robot and Squire. And we even get a happy reunion at the end.
An example of how Saga can also do a looser collection of stories perfectly, compared with the single long arc of the previous volume.
Significantly more upbeat than the last one, with still some beautifully bittersweet moments mixed in.

This volume has lots of social commentary! One of the main topic is abortion, which I think the authors did a good job at discussing the arguments pro and against it in a sensible yet objective way.
Hazel is growing up and is becoming more of a fleshed out character rather than just the narrator which is awesome.
