English teacher tells her experience teaching Shakespeare in a Maxmum Security Prison to inmates on segregation.
Excellent book on how higher learning can be accessible to everyone and how education can help even those who seem to be completely lost.
Good Read!
This really makes me think of how human Shakespeare is. His themes still speak to things modern people struggle with, so maybe it isn't modern issues, but human issues.
The inmate is rather fascinating. He knows he is not getting out and isn't doing this to get out. He is doing this to get better. I'm sure others will find issues with him and the doctor's work, but I didn't.
So an enjoyable and educational listen.
