I honestly barely enjoyed this one. It had good moments and lines, but also some really bad ones. I don't like the rules of the world as Rick has set them up. Like the cabins but also the whole counsel thing. Many people are incredibly unlikeable and/or unreasonable with no other motivations than being a dick. Side characters are often very two-dimensional in that way.
I also didn't like any of the stuff between Rachel, Percy and Annabeth. It's such a cliche and not even a good one. Or the whole thing between Luke, Annabeth and Percy honestly. I could have screamed “just fucking talk” to my good like 10 times. I am glad this series is almost over because I am fucking done with it.
The boy continues to love this series. He laughs regularly throughout the story and is always anxious to start the next one.
Recognizing I am not the demographic for this series, I would say this was a fun read, but ultimately I found it not memorable and probably wouldn't read it again. That said, I have gone back to read books I enjoyed at earlier ages and found that they weren't as good as I remembered them.
Parts I really liked, like Calypso and some parts of the labyrinth. But I felt like there were too many side characters being introduced and I didn't like entering/exiting the labyrinth so many times.
Probably my favorite in the series.
I loved noticing Percy grow up, like, getting older, it was so good to see! And he's confused and having girl problems, and it's cute and he blushes and I just can't, I love this book, and I love Percy so much.
Loved the thing - you know, the thing - that happened on Mt. Saint Helens (you know what thing I'm talking about!). It was great. It was like A+++++++
This whole book was just pure A++++++++
The first book of the series I really don't remember anything about other than it being about a labyrinth. And man. This is easily the best of the series yet, so many great moments that just scream adventure, maybe the most variety we've had, and although it is for 14 year olds, some pretty graphic moments, like Daedalus being a prisoner and being inferred to getting tortured, and also Daedalus almost bleeding to his death. Not much came back to refresh my memory though, other than Pan, and the ending where Poseidon shows up in a reign of jealousy. I cannot wait to read The Last Olympian, which I cannot even remember anything at all that happens.
I FORGOT HOW GOOD THIS BOOK WAS!!! Depth is added to a few characters, pasts are being introduced, and there's nothing like good ol' jealousy to add to the chaos
I finally picked up book #4 in this series after a long delay. IDK why–I liked the first 3 and I'd read a few other Rick Riordan books... I guess I felt like there wasn't much professional gain to be had in reading them since I already knew enough to promote the series, and they don't quite end on enough of a cliffhanger for me to want to immediately pick up the next one? But I got this on audiobook for a trip and enjoyed it.
The audiobook is kind of a mixed bag–it's a good story for a trip because it moves along and keeps me interested on long drives. But the narrator makes some weird choices? And seems to hand out accents to characters kind of randomly? And I feel like the accent he gives Ethan Nakamura is kinda racist?? And he makes Tyson sound like a South Park character with a developmental disability which is kinda...not great?? uhhh idk
absolutely ADORED this one. i started university last week and i thought i wouldn't have much time for reading,,, turns out i've read two books already, and all thanks to two hours of public transportation and rick riordan making me excited about traveling
but, yeah, i haven't talked about it before but i hate books about journeys and travels and that kind of stuff. i find them so boring and that is one of the reasons i thought i wouldn't like the pery jackson series. turns out i was wrong, but i'd still prefer to see more of life at camp and magic and those kind of things i got hyped on because people kept comparing this to harry potter. it is not harry potter. it is so so so much better, not only because riordan is not a transphobic piece of dirt, but because i actually adore each and every character and care deeply about them. i am so happy i get to read this, i am so happy while reading. i'm not doing that well lately, thanks for giving me a second home, aunt rick.
spoilers ahead
clarisse and chris, the only hetero couple i respect
tyson and briares, my sons, i love them so much
i've cried in the bus while reading some parts, i've cried in my bed, i've cried everywhere
THE PLOTWIST OH MY GOD
and the cliffhanger......... thanks god i bought all of the books at once, i'll read the one that has three stories before the last one but, oh my, every book gets better and better
I tried to read this book like 4 times before I actually was able to finish it. I finished The Titans Curse in like 2014 or something. I don't know I was stuck for a long time. But with a new year comes new resolutions and I was going to finish the Percy Jackson series damnit. And that meant I had to get through Battle of the Labyrinth. And I'm glad I did. I ended up enjoying once I pushed past the place I kept getting stuck at. And Riordan is pretty great cause even after years of being out of this world I didn't feel confused. He explained past events in a way that he actually brought them back up rather than just alluding to them vaguely. Thank you for that Rick Riordan. Also it was really fun to see all these characters I love again. Took me forever to get myself to finish it, but yay I did!
took me a WHILE to finish this... i guess the descriptions were as confusing as the labryinth
There are a lot of fun moments in here, but everything is so similar to the last three books that it's hard to recommend it.
Obviously, I loved this! It is just AMAZING! I'm soo happy I found this series. I'll read the rest, of course! This one was darker I guess and more things happened. Annabeth was kinda annoying in this one. I liked Rachel. The gang was together again with Tyson and Grover. I just loved everything, it's a MASTERPIECE! I mean, seriously if you still haven't read any RR and/or PJO books, go read it now!!!
10000/5
Bener bener buku yang bagus, membawa pembaca seperti ikut dalam labirin tersebut
I enjoyed this one very much, lots of plot twists and the pacing was really good. Also Poseidon seems like a cool dad, can I have him please?
Nico seems like a really cool character and I hope we get to see more of his development. Tyson is as always a badass and I love his character so much. I wish Percy and Annabeth would just be truthful with each other, it would solve a lot of things xD
I'm scared to read the next one as I don't want it to end :(
YAssssss, so much action! And Nico being a little shit at first, but that's totally understandable after what happened in the Titan's curse. I love Nico's character anyway, so it is always a pleasure to see his character in the book.
This book is fast paced and it has a LOT of build up towards the final book in the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series. So many things are happening all at once.
I love that we get to know Rachel Dare better and better, she's a great character and I'm happy to see more of her again :)
I LOVED this book, obviously. I absolutely adored the demigods in this one. Their friendship is growing with each book and I mean, their group is the definition of Friendship goals. (at least, for as long as this series continues, lol)
forgot wat happened~
but i felt kinda claustrophobic the whole time XD
but the suspense... X3
I loved this book so much. Everything about it was truly perfection. The dynamic between the four questers was exactly what I love about Percy Jackson in general. This book was thrilling and it just made me happy!
A kind of return to the classic quests and mostly historical setting of the series following the dark third entry. Whereas the last book was quite focused in its plot, this one had a few storylines running concurrently, diverging and converging whenever appropriate. Percy, Annabeth, Grover, Tyson, Nico, Clarisse, the other campers and supporting Gods each have their own journeys. However instead of a mess, Riordan weaves a mesmerising story that's all about an individual's deeds and the impacts created by them. In a way that reminds me of the Avengers movies, there's something satisfying about seeing these characters after short periods of time and witnessing their interactions and growth, especially now the reader is really attached to them. Teenage romance was also a theme of this book, but didn't overtake the story and development which I appreciated. As usual, the humour was great, and the mystery really led to a “smack-yourself-in-the-forehead” kind of revelation which was entertaining. And I will never forget that cliffhanger ending for the finale.
De verdad esta saga de libros mejora en cada libro. Me encanta ver como la historia y también los personajes maduran. Junto con el tercero, es el mejor de la saga.
viva el percybeth.
