This book is beyond ridiculous. There are unfinished storylines galore and who are these stupid people? I'm sure if I just roll up on the police claiming to have had an affair & a child they're going to reopen an accidental death. Stop. I should've DNFed it.
I like other books by the author but this one was too much.
Another great, and surprising read. Very fast, and interesting to see how everything played out. I love that Shari's books tend to answer any questions you might have just when you think you need to suspend belief.
The first and last 50 pages were outstanding and the epilogue was so haunting!! Heads up though if you don't like open/ambiguous endings. I thought the middle dragged a bit, but overall it was a very entertaining ~suburban drama~ style domestic thriller.
Listened to this in one go during a long day of painting and was completely gripped throughout. Loved the twists and they kept coming.
The definitions of somebody everybody hates have just been updated after you've met Erica Voss... that said, I thought that the way it was all tied up was a bit weird and unreal. I mean, it wasn't much of true love, was it, if Steph was all set to KILL him in cold blood five months after having his twins? and what kind of police work ruled that as suicide if he didn't even have gunpowder in his hands? I mean, even I was asking myself how she would solve that before she shot him...
Great novel by Shari Lapena. I felt like I was in Stephanie's shoes, understanding of her actions and feeling all her pain and hurt. Got a little repetitive at some points but by the end I was hooked. I've never hated a character more than I hated Erica, which I suppose is a good thing, it shows how well she's written. One of Shari Lapena's best endings, and left me wanting more.
Having read Shari Lapena's debut novel The Couple Next Door a few years ago I jumped at the chance to join The End Of Her blog tour. What I love about Lapena's writing is that it hooks you straight away and draws you in. There is something comforting about the domestic drama that starts to unfold as you turn the pages but before you know it you are caught up in a chilling thriller where the pace doesn't let up.
The characters were well developed and I was completely at a loss as to who to believe. Every character had their own set of secrets which made the lies and the truth become very blurred at times. This made it every bit the twisted psychological thriller which I adored. I had no idea where the plot was going, who the reliable characters were or how it was going to end but oh my, just like her previous books, what an ending! It left me breathless with a huge smile on my face.
