A psychic historical detective is a new wrinkle for a cozy mystery. The difficult relationship with her mother felt realistic. The mystery was deeply personal and didn't end the way I expected. Yay! I didn't read/ listen to book #1 and this was a good introduction to the characters. The love triangle part wasn't drawn out, thank goodness. Good mystery, good characters, good bit of romance.
