Chagrin chagrin chagrin lol. I really liked the concept but there were loopholes here and there. I didn't like the writing style much and some parts were very draggy. It was also choppy for all the wrong reasons.

The only interesting part of this book is the general concept of how the aliens take over earth. But then you get annoying characters and repetitive, boring narrative.
I listened to the audiobook, making it easier to tune out the tedium and poorly written dialogue/narration

Surprisingly much better than the Twilight series. I hope to see more with these characters in the future.

Great! Not since Joss Whedon has a writer so successfully combined genre fiction with the exploration of identity and what it means to be a monster (or a hero), an alien or a human. Plus a hopeless and beautiful love quadrangle!

Man, I miss Buffy.

I was scared to start this book, the whole author/twilight/embarrassment thing, but I absolutely adored it. it's hard when you have to finish a book that makes you feel like you're family with the characters...

Just not my cup of tea for a book. Decent but not for me.

It took me a while to get into this book, I'm not a big fan of aliens, but wow once I got through the beginning- wow... great book. loved it... Not crazy about the ending... but for the most part it was good.
Although a little too much romance for my liking.

Loved the premise and how evocative this book was. Spurred many conversations about human nature, will power and how the alien culture was going to be forever altered by their contact with humanity.

Simply excellent writing and a very unique imaginative story. No complaints–which is extremely rare for me.
