I'm not usually all about the besties to lovers trope, but Glass does it well. This is a warm and light read if you want something more romance filled with characters you will enjoy following. I'm still not big on the trope, but hey, this one made me just a little more fond of it.

This was really cute and I loved the vivid descriptions on how Cam and Kenya designed their projects. However, the romance aspect was not as strong as it should be and the sex scene was written poorly in my opinion. Despite this, the story was overall really heartwarming and a great example of a Black woman navigating and prevailing many different struggles in a predominantly white space, all with a great friend and lover by her side.
This is a romance novel with so many layers from a girl fighting for her dreams and hopes of thriving in a creative career to a complex relationship forming with a life long friend. It was SO well written and swoony and fat positive and I enjoyed every second spent in between these pages.
I absolutely loved this book. The author did such a great job showcasing the struggles young black women face in the cosplaying world. The constant micro aggressions and put downs for not looking a certain way. I had such a good time reading this
