As a person with a degree in English, this is the kind of book I consider myself ~too good for~. It was a really fun read, though; weirdly addictive. Also I like books that take place in contemporary London, even if they are not especially good, because they make me remember things like Opal Fruits and Waterstones and the tube.
Gemma writes a book about her dad leaving her mam, but he predictably comes back, saving her from handling the guilt if dealing e her mom.. Lily lives in panic and remorse for having stolen Gemma's reckless boyfriend, and also becomes a published author, albeit only through trauma. Jojo, also guilt ridden, is the link between them for being the literary agent and, surprise, also guilt ridden for her affair w a married man.
Good story and interesting characters, but not life changing; more of a great winter read under covers w tea.
