This was another book that was quite gripping, but frustrated me to no end. The twist seemed painfully obvious, although I will say that I greatly appreciated the ambiguous ending, and a lot of the writing made me feel like I was reading a rough draft written by somebody in high school. Perhaps that was the author's intention for Olivia, but I don't understand why It would be purposeful for the adult perspectives.
In any case, not one that I regret reading, but I simply do not understand how this is raking in almost a 4.5 star rating. Perhaps this author simply is not for me.
OH!!! PLEASE tell me why we needed a page of her explaining why they use an electric toothbrush?! The more I think about this book, the less I like it.
Wildly captivating, with a plot twist to die for ;)
Did not expect much from this book, didn't even read any reviews, but boy was I pleasantly surprised by it!
It was a read that only took a couple hours, as the story kept me hooked and the plot twist did not allow me to put the book down. I just recently started reading again and this book is easily one of my favorites so far, I will definitely be checking out more of Freida's work!

The twist she's given was creative and unexpected, but 5 minutes after I'd finished I was thinking, wait, then she lived with a psychopath as a husband and another as a son and a spoiled brat as a daughter and a killer as a dad? maybe a tad too much?
Another page-turner. My fourth book from this great author. I will definitely read some more from her.
3.75 - 3.8 for me
It was good in your typical Freida fashion, but I'm starting to feel like I'm not a huge fan of her older books. Don't get me wrong - it was good. I really enjoyed the plot but the twist is where the points fall for me. It wasn't that I couldn't figure it out. I think it was that there wasn't an option for me to. The way some of the chapter were written, I wasn't able to read between the lines and a lot of times I can't. I tried to go back and see what I missed (again, I'm not mad I couldn't figure it out), but I really didn't miss anything. The twist made sense ... almost. I feel like the ending was a little rushed, but it was still a good book. Another recommendation for a beginner Freida Readah ;)
3.5 - 4 ⭐️
Suspenseful, fairly unpredictable, quick, enjoyable read! The last couple of books I read I really had to push myself to get through, so this book was exactly what I needed!! It takes off quickly and keeps you gripped/ not wanting to put it down making it a very quick read.
Was it game changing? No. But it was thoroughly enjoyable and I could not put it down. There were parts that were a bit predictable but it was accompanied by other things that I didn't see coming at all. I also LOVE a multiple first person perspective book where you piece the story together based on these different perspectives.
The more McFadden books I read, the more I feel she's like the Colleen Hoover of psychological thrillers. Her books are enjoyable, gripping and easy to fly through. Although they're probably not going to be my all time favorites or game changing books, they get me excited about reading and leave me wanting to read everything she publishes.
Definitely recommend giving this a read!
