After setting out to break the curse that binds them together, the pirate Ananna and the assassin Naji find themselves stranded on an enchanted island in the north with nothing but a sword and their wits. But Naji has unseen enemies, and Ananna must face the wrath of the Pirate Confederation.
Together, they must travel afar, defeat their foes and break the mother of all curses. With all this going on, falling in love would be such a bad idea...

Well, according to the acknowledgement at the end of the book, there was originally one enormous book which was broken up into The Assassin's Curse and The Pirate's Wish. I think they should have been published as one volume, but I obviously don't work in the industry. I definitely recommend that you have both books on hand before starting th duology, though.
I'm quite pleased with how the plot threads were brought together, and the main character certainly developed well. The book passes the Bechdel test with flying colors, too.
the first book that ends with the main characters in the bed (LOL) seriously, I love that.
Gostei bastante do livro.
bom, bonzinho
The problems that I had with the first book continue on into this one which made it less likeable...
There were times I thought Naji liked Ananna and while Ananna told us she liked him, it was super hard to see in her actions. Words and actions did not always match up. They are not my favorite couple.
This duology also works best as a big novel, I think. This book picks up pretty much right where the first lets off. The pacing works better as one book.
The plot... it seemed to just happen to them. So, read this more for the characters and world than for the plot.
Yet, I found the book entertaining and I had fun reading it (when Ananna wasn't thinking about Naji). There is even a lesbian relationship which I thought was super cool. They were probably my favorite characters.
