3.5 stars The Pleasure Den is an erotic F/F short story about a woman who spends some of her time in sex chat rooms, and who finds empowerment through exhibitionism.Jacky and Miss Bojangles have been talking in The Box for quite some time now and have developed a friendship that goes a little beyond them just being friends. Enjoying putting on a little show, Jacky turns on her webcam and strips for Miss Bo.What I enjoyed about this short story is that it isn't just trashy sex. The author takes her time setting up the scene, and for such a short piece, the characters are surprisingly well-developed.The writing is also pretty sophisticated for an erotic short story, and I truly appreciated it. What I mean is, sometimes I feel like some writers use the fact that their work is in the erotic/smutty genre as an excuse for bad writing. If you publish any kind of literary work and expect people to pay for it, you should make some editing efforts. Patricia Ray respects her craft and her prose is excellent.Personally, I would've liked a little more steam, but overall, it was a really nice piece. I'll definitely be checking out the other short stories in this series.This short story is about 30 pages long, and the ~action starts well past the 50% mark, so if you're looking for pure smut, this isn't it.There's a mention of M/F sex and cocks so if that's not your thing, you've been warned!I've received a free copy of this book via BookSirens in exchange for an honest review
