The Politician

This was the first book written by Tim that I read and it won't be the last.

It was really well written especially the characterization of DS Cross! Thanks to being on the autism spectrum, he has difficulty working in a team and can come across as rude and be frustrating to deal with, but I loved him with all his quirkiness! I also loved the relationship between him and Ottey. Despite getting frustrated with him at times, she's also one of few people who tries to understand him.

The story itself was really well written. Well, mostly. I thought there was the odd occasion when things got overly descriptive.

On the whole though, it was a great read and I'll definitely read the rest of the books in the series.

DS Cross is a very unique character, so it definitely makes a change from your usual detective books. I would definitely recommend it.
