a great intro to philosophy, especially to Theory of Knowledge, laws of thought and Plato's Universals...with valid arguments against Idealism, Kant's Thing in Itself, and empiricism.

Bertrand Russel's mental rigour and eloquence is abundant throughout this book as he writes about things people have taken for granted for centuries, and casts them in an entirely new light.

I really enjoyed it, but I feel I need to reread it and take extensive notes to fully appreciate the book’s content. It can be quite dense in places, but it's rewarding. It's a strong case for the usefulness of philosophy in improving the coherence of one’s thought process.
