Phew, what an utterly fantastic read that was! It's been so, so good! Fast paced, with some brilliant action.
There was some beautiful descriptions throughout and I loved the humour, which helped balance the book and stopped it from being totally sad/heartbreaking.
It had a wonderful mix of characters. I loved Jag/Jack/Jacques and am really going to miss him, although with his story not complete, I'm guessing there'll be another book.
Thank you to PH and JC Harvey for the chance to read this excellent book!
A very competent historical novel about a conflict I knew little about. I appreciate the fact that Harvey is taking her time to set the canvas for the book. She has done that for the protagonist but i feel i still need more on the historical conflict. Looking forward to the second book
