Very enjoyable book though I didn't like it at first. The first 46 pages seemed juvenile to me and not worthy of a Jenny Colgan book. Basically starts with 3 young single women of London desperate to be in a relationship with a man. And there were none to speak of in London as women outnumbered men. Katie then finds herself, a PR specialist, working in a remote Scottish town where the men outnumber the women (something like 19 to 1). That's when the book takes off and thus begins the story of saving a town from a land developer and finding true love. As a PR person, Katie gives interviews to gain momentum for saving the town from development and happens to mention the men-women ratio wherever she goes. That fact alone causes a surge of female visitors to the town from far and wide. It's hugely entertaining and a fun romp.
It went on and on for so long that by the time the Forest was finally safe, I didn't care much about all the characters and even less about the core couple - the grumpy Harry, the flaky Kate. They were more than that, but again - it was a bit more dragged on than it shouldn't have been.
