"Darkness has descended on the Shadowhunter world. Chaos and destruction overwhelm the Nephilim as Clary, Jace, Simon, and their friends band together to fight the greatest evil they have ever faced: Clary's own brother. Nothing in this world can defeat Sebastian--but if they journey to the realm of demons, they just might have a chance."--

3.75 stars feels more accurate. I feel like the first 300 pages of this book didn't need to exist.. they didn't really do anything.
I think it would have been a better story to combine them necessary parts from book five and add them to this one. Overall, not the worst ending for the series.
The Infernal Devices series was much better.
Omg!!!!! I'm both happy and sad that I've finally finished the series, but this was an amazing conclusion to the story!! I can't wait to continue on with more books in this world!!
I felt like this book was way longer than it needed to be, but I'm so so so SO glad this is finally over. I've said before that I found the extension to the original trilogy unnecessary. As the series went on, I found myself disliking Clary and Jace more and more and no longer caring what happened to them—the side characters were really what saved it for me. Simon and Magnus and BROTHER ZACHARIAH OH MAN ALL OF THE FEELS. He definitely was what kept me reading instead of dropping the book. All the references to TID killed me. SO MANY TEARS.
Overall, it was a pretty decent conclusion and ended as you can imagine a Cassandra Clare series to end. What upsets me is I'll probably end up reading Lady Midnight when it comes out because I do like Emma, but I don't want to commit to another series like that. I really want to be done with the Shadowhunter world so I'm going to my hardest to stay the hell away from TDA. Can Cassandra Clare would just move on to something else please?
