A perfect companion for a long drive from San Francisco to Orange County. It is very trope heavy with the UK vs French stereotypes but the writing is light enough to not be too heavy and Moore does have some funny turn of phrases.
While the story is humorous and has an overall cozy vibe, it's hard to actually care about following the story when the main character is also apathetic to the situation.

This was funnier than I expected. Richard is both more boring and more interesting than i expected as well. But I guess that is to be expected when i picked the book for the title and the cover.
The mystery's twists were a surprise to me. And the investigators entertained me as well. So this was an enjoyable somewhat campy mystery.
Calling it a day on this one. It just wasn't holding my interest. It happens.
Old white mediocre curmudgeon fancies himself a slave owner and speaks about “blacking up” for the night after putting on a mud face mask. DNF. Trash.
