So I just finished Finale by Stephanie Garber yesterday and I really liked it. I think it is a really good conclusion to the saga and it def become truely about romance. Love is absolutely in the center of this 3rd book. We get to know more about the fates which is awsome and also about Paradise lost, the girls mother.
But I have to say I was a little bit disappointed by the fact that the end seems to easy to me. Like love triumphs, everyone is happy and rich... etc
I have to say that especially in this one that the character would struggle a little bit more and would not have a flat happy ending. I love the ending of the second book because it didn't feel to easy.
I would have like to see Legend really scared at the end about the future or something like that.
But I did have a really good time and I still love the universe!
I REALLY wanted to five star this one. I love this series. I still love this series. But I've got a few issues. The ending was okay. But I needed more than okay. I needed something WAY more tragic. I know that seems horrible on my part but that was the vibe of the book...Fates, magic, love triangles, lies upon lies, some dude name LEGEND for christ's sake. It didn't really get going until the middle of the book but I'm okay with that since the second book ended with a bang...people need time to recuperate and breathe. Even people in magical stories. Other than that, I will miss the world of Caraval...and I'll be reading this again at some point.
4.5 Stars
Thoughts to come after I have had time to process everything that just happened.
I successfully read this entire book in like 4 hours so everyone clap for me.
Tella and redacted because of spoilers have my entire heart and I will love them forever.
Hmm it was worst than 2 first books... it was all about love and not the story! Great for teenagers
I really enjoyed this book. It was slow to start, but after about 100 pages it really picked up the pace and kept me hooked. I enjoyed both Tella and Scarlett's growth throughout the trilogy. A satisfying ending to and entertaining story. This was my favorite book of the series.
4,5*
A bit repetitive at times but other than that this book is a great conclusion to the series!
ONLY 5 STARS? This book deserves more. It was INCREDIBLE. I think I might have a new favouritr trilogy.
This book was so beautiful that it left me crying because it ended. This hasn't happened to me in a long time. I'm going to have a HUGE book hangover after this masterpiece. Everyone needs to read this, it's too good to be true.
Stephanie Garber, you're amazing! This book has everything you need: love, friendship, family, betrayal, hate, joy. It makes you feel every possible feeling, it's so magical and beautiful. I definitely need to read these books again.
Oh, and I did absolutely fall in love with Donatella Dragna. She's awesome.
Honestly, while I enjoyed the book it felt like this series would have been stronger if it had been a duology. It's like the author wanted to go too many directions with this story.
2/5 ⭐
Thanks I hate it. I didn't care about anything that was going on. The plot twists were boring. Julian's character was ruined in this book and so was Dante's. Tella infuriates me so much. I had to stop reading multiple times because of her idiotic choices. I don't understand how anyone could like her including Scarlet. I felt like throwing this book off a cliff many many times.
This review is also featured on Behind the Pages: Finale
The Fates have been freed, allowing them to wander among the people and play their disturbing games. Whether it's turning a family into stone, or stringing up people to turn them into puppets. Tella and Scarlet must outwit the Fates before it is too late. And the one person with the power to defeat them, may not be trustworthy. Legend may sit on the throne, but that doesn't mean he will be willing to help. Not if it risks his powers.
This time instead of only one sister narrating, Finale switches between Donatella and Scarlet's point of view. Given that the previous books were each told by one sister, it made sense for the last book to share POV. This provided a creative way for each sister to complete her story arc. Unfortunately, this also allowed for each to become involved in a love triangle as well.
Finale steps away from the thrill of Caraval and focuses on romantic relationships. As the world changes due to the magic of the Fates, the drama caused by each relationship grows. But the conflicts on both sides felt disjointed. At times there were plot elements added that only ended up coming to a halt and never fully explored. Some of the more dramatic reveals fell flat because there was not enough build-up to support them.
Much of the magic and mystery that brought this series to life was put to the side for more upfront and immediate conflict. The Fates were intense villains with grotesque abilities, but the focus always remained on the character's romance. And the unique way Stephanie Garber described scenes from the previous novels, focused instead on detailing the dresses each sister wore. Finale fell more into the typical young adult romance genre than the intricate fantasy it started as.
2.5 stars I wasn't a massive fan of the series to start with, but this was painful to get through.

I've come to fall in love with legend. I find him by far hotter and more attractive than jacks.

Ok I have no words for this IT WAS A LOT and I wish it didn't end NEVER, but like Legend said: Caraval don't need to be inmortal because it is my FOREVER
