Y E S. My inner super sleuth-loving, Nancy Drew- and Veronica Mars-fangirling self was in pure heaven for a solid hour. Plus! Diverse characters, good friendships, an adorable fledgeling romance, and wonderful art.
I will most definitely be picking up volume 2 in the future.
This book is what it says on the tin - a fun, quick, cute mystery with a young girl/ detective. If that is what you are looking for, then this is for you! I personally really appreciated the diversity with a range of black characters as well as a hint of a lesbian/bi/we aren't quite sure yet main character. Overall, fantastic!
This series came highly recommended and there were lots of things that I liked about it. The primary one being the character of Goldie; she is vibrant and her personality jumps off the page. I did feel that the story could have been more developed and am hoping that improves as the series continues. Good start though with lots of diversity.
This graphic novel was a quick, fun read, but I expected more from it. I guess I'll continue reading to see if it becomes better.
By the way, I LOVED the art style! It's so beautiful.
